Snow Possible Saturday

Will Beginn As Rain, Could See Accumulations On Grass

April 06, 2018 - 2:44 pm

Richmond, VA ( –  Richmonders should not be surprised to see snow on grassy surfaces by the time we get to Saturday night.  NBC12 Meteorologist Megan Wise says a storm, coming through starting this evening, will produce rain, sleet, and snow in the Richmond area.

The storm will start as rain tonight, after evening rush hour.  It will get heavier tomorrow morning, according to Wise.  There will then be a changeover to sleet and snow, before ending as light snow Saturday night.  Because the roads will be wet, there is an icing concern Saturday into Sunday.

There is also a fire danger today because conditions have been dry, and wind gusts could get to above 30 miles per hour.
