Richmond, VA ( –  The Science Museum of Virginia has a new rock.  Actually, it's a new meteorite, which the Museum bought to replace the one stolen from its "Speed" exhibit in March.

The new meteorite is very similar to the previous one, although smaller.  It cost the museum about $1,000.  The original was approximately $1,500.

Museum Director Richard Conti says they believe this one is more secure, although it is located in the same spot in the main gallery of the museum.   The original has never been found.  Conti says there has been a silver lining, however; it has increased interest in astronomy among visitors at the museum.
