Richmond, VA (1140wrva.com) – Virginia Commonwealth University has announced a nearly six-and-a-half percent increase in tuition for the next academic year.  The increase is for in-state students (out-of-state face as well), and it will leave in-state students paying just under $15,000 in tuition and fees for the next academic year.

Out-of-state tuition will be set at $35,798 for the next academic year.  The money is being used for faculty positions, staff raises, financial assistance, and maintenance.

VCU says the budget will help them attract and maintain prominent faculty.
